Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FloorPlan AI ("FloorPlan AI", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards information when you use the FloorPlan AI iOS application (the "App") and the website at finder.rent (together, the "Service").
1. Who we are
FloorPlan AI is the operator of the Service. You can reach us at support@finder.rent for any privacy-related questions, requests, or complaints.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information. When you create an account we receive your name, email address, profile photo URL (if provided by your sign-in provider), and authentication identifiers through Firebase Authentication. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, Apple provides us with a private relay address instead of your real email; we communicate with you through that relay.
- Room scans. 3D room geometry, wall/door/window/object metadata, camera images, depth maps, confidence maps, LiDAR-derived point clouds, USDZ models, and thumbnails generated by the App during scanning.
- Location (optional). When you grant location permission, the App attaches your approximate GPS coordinates to outdoor recordings to help you organize scans. Location is only used while the App is in use and only during an active scanning session. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings without losing other App functionality.
- User-generated content. Project names, notes, and any content you save inside the App.
- Submissions. Feedback, bug reports, and waitlist email addresses you submit through the App or website.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device information. Device model, iOS version, locale, time zone, app version.
- Product analytics. Firebase Analytics automatically collects aggregated usage events (app opens, screens viewed, feature engagement) and a resettable Firebase installation identifier to help us understand product usage. This does not include scan content.
- Diagnostics. Crash logs and basic error events to improve reliability.
- Website analytics. Aggregated traffic data via Google Analytics (page views, referrer, approximate region). Website analytics are not linked to your App account.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not collect contacts, calendar, photos library content, microphone audio, or health data.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising, and the App does not display the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- We do not sell your personal information.
3. How we use information
- Provide core App features: scanning, floor plan generation, saving and viewing plans.
- Generate AI-enhanced floor plans, blueprints, and 3D renderings from your scans.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Process credit balances and entitlements for paid features.
- Respond to support requests, feedback, and bug reports.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- Comply with legal obligations.
4. Room scans & sensitive content
Room scans may capture the interior of your home or another private space. We treat scan data as sensitive and apply additional safeguards: scans are transmitted over TLS, stored in access-controlled cloud storage, never sold, and never used for advertising.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan any space you capture and for the privacy of any third parties who may appear in scan images. Do not scan spaces you do not have permission to scan.
5. AI processing disclosure
To generate enhanced blueprints and 3D-style renderings, we transmit floor plan images and prompts derived from your scan to Google's Gemini API for processing. Google processes this content as a data processor on our behalf under their API terms; per those terms, customer content sent through the paid Gemini API is not used to train Google's models.
AI outputs are illustrative only. They may contain inaccuracies and must not be relied on as architectural, engineering, or safety-critical documents.
6. Third-party processors
We use the following service providers to operate the Service. Each is bound by contract to protect your information:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, Firestore, Analytics) — application backend, identity, storage, and product analytics. Firebase privacy.
- Google Sign-In — optional sign-in provider. When you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile information with us to create your account. Google privacy.
- Sign in with Apple — optional sign-in provider. Apple shares a stable user identifier and, at your choice, your name and email (real or a private relay address). Apple privacy.
- Google Gemini API — AI image generation. Gemini API terms.
- Apple App Store & In-App Purchase — distribution and payments. Apple processes payment information directly; we do not receive your payment card details. Apple privacy.
- Google Analytics — aggregated website analytics only.
7. Sharing & disclosure
We share information only as follows:
- With the processors listed above, strictly to provide the Service.
- To comply with a valid legal request (subpoena, court order) or to protect rights, safety, or property.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, in which case we will notify you and any successor will be bound by this Policy or provide equivalent protection.
We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not share scan content with advertisers.
8. Retention & deletion
- Active accounts. We retain account data, scans, and generated content for as long as your account is active.
- Account deletion. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the App. On deletion we erase your account record and associated scans from active systems within 30 days.
- Backups. Residual copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days, after which they are overwritten.
- Logs & diagnostics. Aggregated, de-identified diagnostic logs may be retained for up to 12 months for reliability and security analysis.
- Legal holds. We may retain limited information longer where required by law (e.g. tax records for paid transactions).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete your information (via in-app account deletion or by emailing us).
- Export a copy of your information (data portability).
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact support@finder.rent. We will respond within 30 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
For users in California (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising — we do not engage in such sharing.
For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland (GDPR): our legal bases for processing are (a) performance of our contract with you to provide the Service, (b) our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, (c) your consent where required, and (d) compliance with legal obligations.
10. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including TLS for data in transit, encryption at rest in our cloud providers, token-based authentication with rotation, scoped access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
11. International transfers
We are based in and primarily operate from servers in the United States and the European Union. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the App or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
